Why a Nurse?
The nurse consultant relies on knowledge of the nursing, health and  wellness and the healthcare delivery systems to implement the steps of the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning and implementation and evaluation.  Due to a nurses knowledge of healthcare practice, policy, procedure and their overall knowledge of the healthcare injury they are best able to:

  • Evaluates the healthcare practitioners and facilitys duty to provide services within clinic guidelines and common practices
  • Interviews witnesses and parties pertinent to healthcare issues
  • Assesses issues of damages and causation relative to health care issues within the legal process
  • Identifies, locates, evaluates and confers with expert witnesses
  • In collaboration with an attorney, participates in drafting of healthcare documents for use in the legal setting
  • Develops collaborative case strategies
